Not much ever happens in my sleepy Midwestern town, but this weekend Niles was alive with artisans and ice drawing people from all over to see.  This is the Hunter Ice Fest and it happens once a year. If you don't mind braving the cold, it is a great fun time to walk the streets and look at frozen art. I was lucky to get shots of nice, clear ice, since Saturday was warmer than desirable for ice at above freezing temperatures. When the air becomes warm the ice will become a milky white color. I got my shots before this happened.  Unfortunately not all the artisans were finished with a lot of the art. But what I got I'm somewhat pleased. If you can't visit Niles or didn't get to Niles to see, I'll share some of my photos with you. If you enjoy these photos, next year please come on into town and support one of the few events Niles has to offer.
